When creating new charts StitchCraft allows you to select either a Cross Stitch, Needlepoint, Bargello, Rughooking, Carpet, Beading or Knitting chart. This will allow you to open tools and a chart specific for that type of designing. You can also select Other/Mixture to open tools for all types of designing.

The Wizard then continues on to offer you a choice of palette brand and type, material brand and type and the chart size. Once you've completed these simple steps you're ready to start designing.
